Essential Mahler
7.30pm (concert start time)
Mahler is usually associated with vast forces but this outstanding arrangement reveals the delicacy and intimacy of this most poetic of his symphonies, offering a transparent, lucid view of the work.
Paired with a crystalline reduction of Debussy's most popular work and Berlioz' enchanting Nuit d'été, this performance offers a fresh view on much-loved works.
Debussy arr Schoenberg - L'aprés midi d'un faune David Curtis - Conductor
Berlioz arr Mathews - Nuit d'été Gillian Keith - Mezzo
Mahler arr Stein - Symphony No. 4
Informal but informative - and free to ticket holders!
