Classical Christmas Concert
7.30pm
The ESO String Orchestra returns to Number 8 for its annual Christmas celebration. This year the featured instrument is the oboe, and soloist Paul Arden-Taylor will be playing concerti by Albinoni and Telemann, as well as "Gabriel's Oboe" from The Mission. A highlight of the concert will be a concerto for oboe and violin by Bach, where Paul will be joined by ESO leader Michael Bochmann.
Interlaced with these pieces will be appropriately festive music for strings by Corelli, Strauss and Leroy Anderson.
The evening will begin as we mean to go on in true Christmas spirit with port and mince pies on arrival.
