Emmy-winning comedy writer and producer Diane English makes her feature directorial debut on a remake of the 1939 George Cukor film The Women; a hip New York comedy about a tight-knit group of female friends dealing with friendship, divorce and betrayal. Meg Ryan plays clothing designer Mary Haines who lives in a beautiful country home with her wealthy financier husband and their 11-year-old daughter. When Mary's husband becomes involved with Crystal Allen, a perfume salesgirl in Saks Fifth Avenue, her situation becomes the talk of her catty companions. Everyone in their close-knit circle begins to question their loyalty to each other and their romantic involvements.
